The orange post!

Well as many of you know, the first theme for our Street Team is orange! You know, I never even really liked the color orange (or yellow, for that matter) until the last couple of years. Suddenly I started buying clothes in those colors when previously I had been a purple-and-black girl.

But orange being the signature color of Etsy, I can tell you one thing I really do like...it might sound kind of dumb, but I really love seeing that little orange number meaning you've received a convo! Someone on the forums once likened getting a convo to getting a little birthday present. Seriously, it's true!

I do have some orange in my jewelery making life right now, though. It is a color I don't normally work with, so it's funny that we chose it as the first color theme. Here are some pictures of the in- progress project.

Plastic fake hematite-looking beaded "power" bracelet from the thrift shop, plus
nifty found items will be a funky new piece of jewelry.

It's going to be a bracelet. The orange plastic piece is part of a car turn signal cover. The black straps are stretchy pieces I had tucked away. Recently I have taken to using a lot of found objects in my work. I have quite a little collection built up of random items I've found out walking. Don't worry, they all get washed ;) I will post pictures when it's finished.

Found object jewelry is great - I'd love to incorporate some in my work, but I keep getting distracted by metalworking. Do you know this book?

I like how the turn signal piece almost look like Goldfish crackers! Btw I added you over at LJ, you should see if you can get this page to rss feed to over there or something (so you don't have to post things twice if you don't want to).

Terri, now this is creative! You not only have the eye for the possibility but were able to carry it out. Good for you! Creativity starts in the imagination! Corline
